In the FT today there is a report that greater competition and a slowdown in the economy is hitting
the leading drinks suppliers in the country, including Coca-Cola and Danone, the French group that dominates Indonesia’s bottled water market.
So is this reflective of the wider economy and does it mean tougher times for other industries, including the telco's?
According to John Kurtz, head of Asia-Pacific for AT Kearney, despite slower growth and pressure on profits, global companies will continue to invest in Indonesia as they expect rising consumption over coming years, so on balance it sounds like good prospects for local telco's and great opportunities for those looking to invest in Indonesia.
Why not get feedback from those in the know? At the Total Telecom Festival next month we are delighted to welcome C-level speakers from Telkomsel and Telkom Indonesia, who will be joined by a number of representatives of their teams at the event. Come along to find out more about the opportunities in Indonesia for your business.
