BT is averaging more than a million minutes a day on its WiFi network, with minutes of usage doubling in the April-September period, compared with the same period in 2007, the U.K. incumbent reported on Tuesday.
Traffic on BT Openzone and BT FON hotspots averaged 8 million minutes per week during that period, and in September the telco recorded its first 10 million-minute week.
"It's great to see users embracing broadband on the move," said Dave Hughes, director at BT wireless broadband, in a statement.
If current mobile speeds achieved with laptop dongles are anything to go by - mobile broadband is the bane of my life right now - WiFi minutes in the U.K. are set to grow for some time to come.
