The Total Telecom webinar "Pathways to IPX Innovation" to be held on the 16th September 2015 brings together three recognised experts on the subject to discuss the opportunities for Communications Service Providers (CSPs) due to the migration of services to all-IP. The webinar will be hosted by Total Telecom editor Mary Lennighan and will feature:
Isabelle Paradis, President, Hot Telecom who has worked with many of the world's global wholesalers and service providers to help them define their IP evolution strategy and has published a number of articles and reports on the future of wholesale and IPX.
Tom Schroer, Director Service Provider Marketing at Dialogic who has many years of experience with both wireless and fixed data and voice networks, including previous work with NetScout Inc. and Tektronix
Steve Heap, CTO of Hot Telecom, who focuses on providing strategic and technology consulting and training to companies either looking to deploy an IPX, or planning to use IPX services from others.
Earlier this year, we repositioned our Viewpoints section as the Knowledge Network, giving the articles greater prominence in our newsletter and on the website, and readership has gone through the roof.
But what is really interesting is to see what you read most 2014, and both number 1 and number 12 are about copper - guess that explains why we've launched Gigabit Copper for 2015!
So if you haven't read all of these articles, they make great Christmas reading...
Here in order of popularity are the top dozen viewpoints from 2014:

If you are interested in what Adtran and CityFibre are saying, both will be speaking at Total Telecom events in 2015. Adtran are sponsors of Gigabit Copper (Munich, March 2015) and CityFibre are speaking at Connected Britain (June, London)

There's a lot of smoke and mirrors surround IP Exchange or IPX, so it's good to look towards some of the technical product documents. This document is actually quite easy to read and briefly explains that service providers, whether they are Mobile or Fixed Network operators have a critical need for a new interconnect environment to handle a wide range of IP services and that IPX provides a commercial and technical solution to manage IP traffic.
GSMA's
The GSMA also go on to point out that IPX fulfils a number of key principles vital for a successful and sustainable IP Interworking solution:
That any potential player in the delivery of IP services - MNOs, FNOs, Carriers and ISPs - has the freedom of choice to be involved.
Reliable and secure delivery of services with agreed QoS levels
A fair commercial return for parties who meet their obligations in the value chain
Efficient Connectivity - the IPX is a Gateway to a managed IP network - managing data flow and commercial information and providing the benefits of multilateral connectivity to all players.
Moving on from the worthy principles brings us to the research conducted recently by IPX experts Hot Telecom, What Customers Think and Want, which was based on interviews with 70 CSP's and flags that 65% of the respondents plan to be using IPX services by the end of 2015 (Download the EXECUTIVE SUMMARY)
